Dr. Ram Pardeshi
Mindful Urgent Care
“Mindful Urgent Care is a great place to begin a journey to return to better mental health. I have been seeing patients for many years – we are ready to take care of your or your family member”
Since his early work, Dr. Pardeshi has been passionate about treating patients with acute symptoms of mental illness such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and psychotic disorders.
In 1988 he was awarded a research grant for fibroblast studies in schizophrenia, exploring the cause of enzymes in the brain on the disease. Since then, Pardeshi’s fervor for providing quality care to individuals suffering from a wide range of illnesses has only increased. He describes the need for quality access to quick and affordable health care as “imminent,” especially in New York where there is currently an opioid crisis in addition to the staggering amount of individuals with untreated mental health diagnoses. He is committed to being part of a team that answers the question asked by many which is: where can I turn for help right now?
Dr. Pardeshi comes to Mindful Urgent Care from New York-Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, where he has been practicing psychiatry since 1992, in addition to working as a psychiatrist at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, Jamaica Hospital, and operating a private psychiatry practice since the 1980’s.
Dr. Pardeshi received his medical degree at B.J. Medical College in Poona University before completing a residency at Cornell University-Creedmoor State Psychiatric Institute in New York. He then completed a clinical fellowship in public psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Pardeshi became an American Board Certified psychiatrist in 1995 and received a ‘Distinguished Life Fellow’ certification through the American Psychiatry Association in 2003.
Dr. Pardeshi has shared his extensive knowledge of psychiatry with training physicians since 1985 when he became clinical supervisor of attending psychiatrists in the acute inpatient unit at Creedmore Psychiatric Center. Shortly after, Pardeshi acted as clinical supervisor of PGY-1 residents at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University.
Pardeshi plans to bring his years and expertise in the field of psychiatry to pioneer the first mental health urgent care center in New York. As medical director he is eager to bring knowledge and experience to the role as well as creativity, innovation, and inspiration to fellow members of Mindful’s interdisciplinary team. He is confident that together, Mindful will provide hope to thousands of individuals who are currently without it. We are thrilled to have him on board.
